About (Redesign)

Why Revival?

Somewhere along the way the marketing communications industry got confused about what we were here to do.

We fell into a media quicksand that appeals to lesser human natures, rewards bad behavior and divides people.

We told our clients the only way to succeed was to choose a side, take a stand and hitch their brands to spokespersons whose wisdom was measured in followers, clicks, comments and shares.

We fed the Beast, poisoned our common ground and fell well short of the goal of generating value for our customers and the people and communities who rely upon their success.

We’ve been wandering in the desert long enough. It’s time to get back to basics.

Revival is not here to save the world.

But make no mistake: we are on a mission to redeem the soul of marketing communications once and for all.

We are unapologetic capitalists and believe in the power of free markets, free thinkers and hard work to improve the well-being of individuals and communities around the world.

We believe most people are honest and pursue their occupations in good faith and in fellowship with their colleagues, partners, customers and vendors.

Despite our differences, most people want to get along with their fellow human beings, live their lives, raise their families, look after their neighborhoods and enjoy the birthright of freedom and liberty.

We believe it’s possible to go about these activities without disrespecting people or places. More than that, we believe that most executives view improving their business and improving the world as complementary objectives.

We are here to be part of the solution. Our goal is to provide marketing communication strategies and services that enable our clients to sell more effectively and efficiently, maximizing returns for stakeholders while improving the lives of their employees, customers and communities they serve.

Call us fundamentalists if you will. But we believe that once you get clear about who you are and what you’re truly here to do, the world gets a lot simpler and a lot better.

So raise your hands, lift your head, and raise your voice.

We’re on a Mission.

Bill Patterson, Founder

I’ve always loved to sell.

I love getting to know the prospect and understand their problems and pain points. I love developing creative solutions to their challenges and presenting those ideas in ways they hadn’t previously considered.

I love the feeling of connection when I look a person in the eye, shake his hand, and together we embark on a mutually beneficial endeavor.

My career in advertising, marketing and public relations now spans five decades and includes serving local, national and international brands in industries ranging from aviation and tourism to agriculture and wireless technology.

I excel at creating ideas that build connections between people: enabling companies to sell their products and services more efficiently, finding common ground on contentious issues, and inspiring teams to improve performance and enhance loyalty.

I am an unapologetic believer in the power of capitalism and free markets to lift people up, improve their station in life and create a better future for their families and communities. I believe in freedom of speech and expression, and that each of us is endowed with the liberty and agency to pursue our wildest dreams.

I was raised in suburban Kansas City and graduated from Shawnee Mission North High School before attending Boston University, where I earned a B.S. in Advertising.

I have served with advertising and public relations firms in New York, Chicago and the Carolinas, although the bulk of my career has been based in Kansas City. I owned my own public relations firm for a dozen years before joining VML (now VMLY&R) in 2013. During my time at VML, I earned an MBA from the Helzberg School of Management at Rockhurst University.

I launched Revival in 2023 to offer privately held business-to-business marketers a back-to-basics approach focused on supporting sales growth and increasing profitability. We proudly offer brand development, integrated reputation management and crisis communications services.

I am a 25-year resident of Brookside, where I live with my wife, Alison, daughter Elwyn, and Tonkinese cat named Dwight.
